do RESISTANCE BANDS really work?
Since the pandemic, resistance bands can be seen EVERYWHERE!
With gyms closed and access to strength training equipment limited we had to think outside the box … this is when I launched our premium fabric resistance band range and I can honestly say it has changed my workouts forever!
Whatever your age/ability strength training is essential. Strength training keeps us strong, slows muscle deterioration, increases metabolism and prevents injury. You can build a certain level of strength with bodyweight only exercises (squats, lunges etc) but the key to strength training is resistance.
Our resistance bands provide this without the price tag of a gym membership. Resistance bands are amazing value for money, easy to store or take with you on travels and can be used anytime/anywhere - this may explain their popularity amongst fitness lovers.
The BBC put resistance bands to the test in a documentary, aired in lockdown, and here’s what they found:
✔️ bands trigger more muscle growth than dumbbells (research by TONY KAY, a professor of biomechanics at Northampton University).
✔️ Professor Kay used sensors to measure the electrical activity in muscle fibres which showed more activity with bands, keeping the muscles under tension on all phases of the exercise.
✔️ the elastic stretch in bands makes movements easier to control resulting in more effective activity/results in the muscles
